9 days and counting...
We're ready to turn a new leaf.
Last week of island living 9 days and counting. We are leaving our beautiful island life in just 9 days. While we love your home and the life here, I have to be honest, everyone is SO very excited to turn a new leaf.
As we’re leading up to this time, I’ve been praying about life and what it’s going to look like. I really don’t see much or have a full picture. But I do have a vision where I can see our family in our new home. It’s all left undone, the way we purchased it. The other thing I see is the kitchen all done and our little sun nook area that we’re going to enclose. It’s beautiful and like a charming English cottage. I’m cooking in it a lot and the purpose of that kitchen is for me to feed people. A place to feed our family and others I guess? I’m not sure exactly, it’s just what I see. I’m also not a great cook, so I guess this means I’m gonna be learning some new things! lol 🤌🏼
On top of all of that, as we found out our house was being sold with everything inside of it… even down to our sheets, moving to Tennessee sounds like it’s going to be a season of fresh wine skins. In Luke 5:37 it talks about new wine skins and leaving behind our old wine skins. Representing leaving behind the old covenant, for the new covenant of God’s grace and how you can’t pour new wine into the old skins, it’s a transformative season. This is what is on the horizon for our family. We all feel it now and I think it’s just going to burst open even more after we get there. I’m expectant to see what the Lord has for us and I am so certain that everything He has had us go through these last few years and even last few months, we’re preparing us for the new.
Life is gonna look very different and it’s in the best way. 🫶🏼
With that, I’ve also been praying about what I’ll be doing. There are some things I feel Him starting to prepare in me but one of them in particular is that I want to pour more into From Ashley. And in order for me to do that, I’ve decided to make the email sent out something done on a monthly basis. The first Monday of every month you’ll receive a From Ashley. But it’s going to look a bit different. I’m still going to include a devotional in it, which will be the meat of it. But I want to add a few more fun pieces that I can grow in what you’re receiving. So here what to expect in your first “new From Ashley.”
-A monthly devotional, filled with scripture and prayer.
-My parenting highs and what I’m working on.
-My marriage highs and what I’m working on. (These two are something I think will be fun to open up about and hopefully get people encouraged in those two areas of life).
-A recipe… apparently I’m gonna be cookin’ up a storm, so this will be fun🤭😜
-Any codes or discounts that I’ve used or seen that week that would benefit the group.
-Our family update.
And this is just to name a few. I have a desire for this letter to be more impactful and in order to do that, I need to give it the time it needs to be excellent. I’m excited for you all to follow along and for us to grow in Christ with this new season and new wine skins.
It’s gonna be a rich season of growth, I can feel it. 🙌🏻
