DIY Corn Hole Boards

What’s an inn in Florida without a corn hole set? While my mom was in town, she convinced me that Joie Inn needed a pair and I hunnit percent agree. And I may not be much of a woodworker, but my mama is and I’m so happy with how these turned out! They were surprisingly easy and I'm glad we were able to save some $$$ while putting our own personal touch on them. It’s the perfect Summer game for families and friends, so why not make your own before those longer days of sunshine and fun?

I am sharing all the dimensions and details you’ll need for the DIY corn hole boards! Tip: When buying your plywood, keep in mind that you’ll need to make two of these, and that for pieces like the sides, you’ll need two of everything for each board!

Each base is 2‘ x 4‘ by three-quarter inch plywood.

And the long sides are 1” x 4” x 4’ long. Remember, you’ll need two of these for each corn hole.

The short sides (top and bottom sides) are 1“ x 4“ x 22 1/2“ long. You’ll need two of these for each as well.

The legs that allow them to sit at an angle are 11/2”in.² by 11 1/8 inch long each with a hole drilled in and through with a 1/4 inch drill bit, at one and a half inches from the top. The screws are 2 1/2 inches long and our quarter inch bolts and you need two for each corn hole and two lock nuts. And then of course the hole in the center, which is 6 inches in diameter across and starts five and three-quarter inches from the top of the board in the middle

Assembly for these is pretty easy. Once all your pieces are cut, you’ll put it all together!

We then painted both of them white - well actually, the painters were there that day. So they painted them white. But you can also just use a roller!

We wanted to put the Joie Inn touch on them, so we made an orange stencil that we used to trace and then paint oranges all over them. To add more detail, we painted the edges black and added a thick black line diagonally through both of them and topped that off with a thin orange line. Then of course I had to add our #joyattheinn hashtag! We can’t wait for days when our guests are throwing the bags and dunking in the pool!
