DIY Dehydrated Orange Garland

The Block Party is here and we are getting festive! And...what is the perfect decor for a Floridian tree? Dehydrated oranges, naturally!

I am breaking down step by step how to make your own. It's so simple and so pretty and classic.

We tried a couple different techniques since we needed large amounts and we truly all liked the look of both! It's whatever you have time for...just have fun with it.

Low and Slow: makes for the most consistent look, but as mentioned it is sloooowwww. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees to 200 degrees. Slice your oranges as thin as you are able to - try and keep the thickness as consistent as you can. Lay them on a *preferably* lined parchment sheet, they can be squished on there, no need to space them out. These will take about 6 hours depending on thickness, could be a little longer for thicker ones, or shorter for thinner ones. Just watch 'em!

Air Fryer: This is a MUCH quicker method, but it requires a lot more attention. Preheat your air fryer to it's lowest setting. Prepare the oranges just as above and lay them on a sheet without parchment. Watch them closely as some may pick up more heat than others and burn quicker.

Once they are crispy and have very little to no sticky-ness, pull them out and let them cool on the sheet - they will be hot! Once cooled a bit, pull them off and start stringing! You can use twine, thinner ribbon or fishing wire. They are actually pretty easy to poke through since the flesh is crispy. So just string through your oranges to create a longer garland strand, keep going or create multiple strands as you wish!

You really don't even need to string them, they look great strung as ornaments or simply placed between branches.

Add some pretty ribbon, string on a tree, hang on a mantle, shelf, stove hood and you are good to go! It's so pretty!
