Lori’s Homemade Granola Recipe

Who are you following?

While reading through Galatians this week from our year in a Bible study. Paul spoke about his walk with the Lord and what led Him on this path He was on. He makes it very clear that the gospel He shares, is from God. This was remarkable to me as I read it and then read deeper in the commentary. It said that everything He shared was received directly from the Lord and not from man. Earlier in the week I was scrolling through Instagram on my explore page and I noticed a handful of accounts that were sharing the gospel. And handful of accounts that were sharing what seemed to me like twists of the gospel. Dino and I discussed some of the red flags I had and some questions but then reading through Galatians, it was as if God gave me an answer right there in His word. The exact example of what I was feeling, written out in text.

There is only one person we should be following. And that’s Jesus Christ.

I think sometimes we look too much to the world for answers or some great quote or word from a speaker. Maybe some of you even use me for those moments of transcendence. And while it’s amazing to be inspired and encouraged, it’s important that who we look to on earth is truly refocusing us back to Christ.

See satan doesn’t need to work that hard to deceive us here. Some pretty imagery of a flowery field with a girl running in the background and an awesome quote (maybe even with a scripture) on it, but the message is slightly off. It’s pushing to self love and not Christ like love. It’s that simple to start leading our eyes away from the Word and into the world.

1 Peter 5:8 urges believers to "be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

Matthew 7:15: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

I have to admit, in my laziness… my phone can become my quick fix for an answer. But what an encouragement and sweet reminder this week that the only source of hope, joy, peace, any answer I’m looking for, it can all come straight from Him.

We don’t need anything else except for a relationship with Him. Seeking His face, reading His infallible Word.

Gettin thrown back into reality this week after a very long flight home and then getting sick with a nasty sinus infection, I tried to soak in the quiet and focus on what God has in store for us coming up.

One of the things I’m looking forward to in this next season is cooking from scratch more at home.

So I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes, my mom homemade granola recipe. Not only is it delicious, but it makes the house smell heavenly!
