OUT WITH THE OLD

I’m a super fan of organizing, cleaning, and purging. Most that know me, see this often. My attachment to material items is minuscule, so this makes it easy for me to clean out on the reg! I don’t like clutter and I typically don’t keep anything in my house that I’m not in love with. I find this helpful with kids because they have a tendency to accumulate heeps and heeps of things, so why add to the chaos?? My motto is, ‘If I want something knew, something has to go.’ There are lots of ways to accomplish this! Give your “pretty junk” to a friend. One mans junk is another mans treasure! Donate to a local Salvation Army or Goodwill. Sell your items on Craigslist, eBay, second hand shops, (or my favorite) have a garage sale! Lastly a great tool I use, is Facebook. Most areas have a local “mom swap” or “sell and trade” group. Just type those words into your search area and something should pop up. If you do decide to sell, compare and check similar items selling online. You want to be fair in your pricing, but also make it beneficial for you. This might seem time consuming, but it pays off to know the value of what you have. Whichever route you decide in the end, cleaning out is beneficial for your home, your family, and your sanity! When you bring something knew in the house, it’s refreshing to know you’ll have a special place for it now.
