School Break Activities

The kids are out of school and Summer is [ almost ] here, although the Florida humidity would say 'it has arrived!'. Being our first Florida Summer, I don't think the kids will have any problems finding things to do with the beach 30 seconds away and Joie Inn renovations happening on the reg. Lots to watch when Mom's working on a project, lol. But I always like to have a little arsenal of ideas to keep them active and entertained when away from school!

This week, we started off at a local museum - which is free on Mondays! Some are free certain times / days of the week and so it's the perfect free activity for you and the kids! They loved it and we got to all experience something new!

Build something! Maybe it's in their blood, but the kids love to get creative and build or create something. And this is perfect for when you need a little help on home projects! lol

Puzzles! The kids love puzzles and it is a great activity for evenings when we are all winding down from the day and spending time as a family.

As you probably remember from Chateau Petrone, we love a solid family walk. It's the perfect time to talk out issues or make fun plans. The kids, Dino and I really enjoy bike rides and it's been so fun to hop on our bikes and discover a new breakfast or ice cream shop - and we lovvve our @bluejaybikes!

Nature Crafts: While on your hike or beach walk, look for fun things to paint...pinecones, seashells, rocks. We love to get creative with them post paint by making jewelry, or picture frames or decorating these inexpensive wooden boxes . Man, did we have fun with those boxes!

Plan a movie / game night: Who doesn't love a good kid cuddle session? Snuggles are the best, and Summer break snuggles are even better!

Do a scavenger hunt: Get creative with local walkable places and neighborhoods. Even better - have them create a scavenger hunt for the parents!

Books: Quinn loves the library and she can sit with a book for hours.

Beach / Park Picnic: Take the books or the scavenger hunt to the beach or park and take lunch to enjoy after! We love to grab local sandwiches or burgers to eat in the sand!

Happy Summer! xx, Ash
