Let me just start by saying...Foxi has excellent taste in food and she is a HUGE fan of these oven tacos! This is actually a fan favorite in the Petrone house and so simple - makes for a great weeknight dinner! You need very little - both ingredients and time - to pull this deliciousness off, so we thought we would share how!
Ingredients:
Hard taco shells
1 lb ground turkey or ground beef
1/2 can refried beans
1/2 can tomato sauce
1 8 oz can of green chilis
1/2 packet taco seasoning (or make your own!)
Taco toppin's - whatever your heart desires!
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Start by browning your meat in a skillet. Once completed cooked, drain any access fat.
3. Mix in refried beans, tomato sauce and the green chilis.
3. Add taco seasoning. I use 1/2 a packet of Trader Joe’s taco seasoning but you can make your own too!
4. Warm for 5-10 min until all heated through.
5. Fill hard taco shells with mixture and stack in a large baking dish.
6. Top them all with cheese and bake uncovered for 10 min.
