DIY Vintage Inspired Gallery Wall

Create an epic gallery wall with collected frames + thrifted art!

This gallery wall was one of the most fun projects I have done in a while because... it was just for me. It was a moment during break where I just thought I'd throw it up. There was no build up to it, I didn't record anything, it was just me in my old element of creating. It was really special to have the time to be creative just for me and our family. And it was super peaceful.

Originally, I was going to do a really straight grid gallery wall like I always do, but I had collected some thrifted frames and I thought, "I'm just going to put these together and make a wall." Dino wanted a memory wall, not just of recent pictures, but of years past as well [ telling the story of us ] and this seemed like a good opportunity to do that! If you were around this time last year, you might remember this unique finds gallery wall in the hallway at Chateau Petrone. This one has the same feel, but on a larger scale.

This gallery wall is a mix of thrifted art, thrifted frames, Target frames, old gallery wall pictures, and new pictures. At any point if I thought to myself, "I could really use xyz," I went and printed it off so I could fill in the gaps how I wanted to. I really loved the whole process. It's as simple as starting with one as a center point and building off of it. I love how fun it is to build this kind of gallery wall because there is really no wrong way to hang it. If you run out of art, you can always add on to the ends as you collect. How fun would it be to add special things here and there! Don't stress over it too much!

I've had my white Target frames for 13 years and I just keep swapping out the pictures. When it comes thrifting for frames, don’t let the print inside the frame stop you, they’re easy to pop out. So if you love a frame… grab it! If you don’t like a frame color you have, paint it. Mix and match modern and thrifted. I used the simple white frames I used in this grid gallery wal l and added some thrifted things for an eclectic feel. I love how it turned out so much! This is definitely the most fun gallery wall I've ever done!
