Homemade Forager Wreath

When it comes to foraging, this Florida territory is a whole other ball game than northern California. In our last California home we had a whole forest to forage from, so I did the best I could with what I had!

I did buy a back up wreath base just in case, but I also challenged myself to find some stuff around the yard. To fill it I used dried flowers I had around as well as some pink velvet ribbon from
The Fox , which will be in stock again soon! But you could also add dried oranges or other embellishments to make it your own.

Start by gathering your materials! If you’d prefer to use the premade wreath base, do that! Or you can find some twigs/branches in your own yard.

Assemble your wreath. I used jute to tie mine together. And you’ll just form it so it kind of makes a circle. Don’t stress if it’s not perfect, you can adjust and tuck along the way.

Once your base is done, you’ll start adding to it. I didn’t use any glue, and just sort of tucked everything in. But feel free to use a hot glue gun if you have one!

Whenever I do a dried florals piece I like to start with my biggest pieces first. I usually pull from the dried flowers that I have around the house, stuff that’s outside, or I dry my own flowers. Eucalyptus, billy balls, camomile, or bunny tails are usually all at the grocery store or Trader joe’s.

I move from side to side. Start on the left and go to the right and then balance it out where you need it. I use flowers to cover up any weird spots in the base as well.

My biggest tip is to make a center point. That’s the last spot you’ll add your main accent pieces to.

Make it your own, get creative and have foraging FUN!
